If you noticed a drop in your business’ page Facebook “LIKES” over the past couple of days, there is no need to panic. Facebook has announced that they are cleaning up the audience for Facebook pages.
Facebook will begin removing deactivated accounts and those that have been memorialized for page LIKE counts. We know that quality over quantity matters and the LIKES that are dropping from your page are those who wouldn’t see your posts anyway because those people have either passed away or they are no longer engaged with their Facebook accounts.
The amount of LIKES that drop from your page will simply depend on how many of the people behind your LIKES have deactivated their accounts or have died. What you’ll be left with are active accounts ready for your business, making your page more valuable for business.
Facebook has announced that going forward, any deactivated and memorialized accounts will be removed from a page’s LIKE count immediately.
